"The British government has removed from its website a petition protesting Pope Benedict XVI's Sept. 16-19 visit to England and Scotland."
http://www.uscatholic.org/news/2010/...ng-popes-visit This petition was on the government website, in advance of a visit from the Pope. "The Protest the Pope petition had criticized Pope Benedict for his alleged "intolerant opposition to women's rights, gay equality, embryonic stem-cell research and condom use to prevent the spread of HIV." " It is odd that all of those topics are said to fall under 'intolerance'. Whenever the Church's teaching on faith or morals is in conflict with the teaching of secular society, the Church is said to be 'intolerant'. The claim is patently absurd. Having a different understanding on a topic is not intolerance.
