The Catholic Public Domain Version of the Bible,
my translation from the Latin Vulgate, is now available in a single volume: http://www.sacredbible.org/ 8.5" x 11" paperback; 10 pt font Here is a sample page: http://www.sacredbible.org/files/single-page-8.5x11.pdf (PDF file) The text at 10 point font size is larger than most 6x9 Bibles. The paper is white and thick enough so that you don't have the problem of seeing through the page, making the text harder to read. It is paperback, 8.5 inch x 11 inch, and about 1.4 inches thick. There are no paragraph breaks, footnotes, or annotations. The text is 700 pages. The volume ends with a list of seven quotes from 5 different Popes and from Vatican II on the inspiration and inerrancy of Scripture. Cost is currently $23.10 (that price can go up if the printer's costs go up at any time). There is currently a free shipping offer also. I make no money at all on printed editions of my Bible translation.

I am happy to announce to the community that I just ordered my very own single volume CPDV. Yay! This is a long time coming. No more having to read this version off the silly computer screen. There is nothing like having a printed book. You hold it. Live with it. The good and holy use of it transfers value and power to the object. And it is the word of God!
It was free shipping. Usually lulu.com is good about shipping. They print the book and ship. Maybe a little over a week. It is summer so things are slower. |

Received my copy today. So it took one week to print and ship. That is not bad at all.
I am very happy with it. The binding is good, it stays open on its own. The print is excellent. The size is a little larger than I expected (8.5 x11) is a little bigger than say a hardcover novel, but the proportion is good since it is not too thick. I am really pleased. Thanks for putting this together Ron. |

I forgot how much I like your translations of the Psalms. I am not a scholar but I have read a few different translations of the Psalms over and over. What I like about yours is that they have a certain virtue or raw power that some other versions lack because they seem to get a bit watered down in favor of a poetic translation. But a more literal translation with a touch of poetry I think is better at least for me, because truth is more powerful than eloquence. Truth is in a way eloquence itself and intoxicates the soul with love for God and all that is good.
